At its low setting of 33.4 inches off the ground, the KTM’s seat height already skews kinda tall. The lesson learned is that the oil level has to be checked when the oil is HOT at normal working temperature, bike vertical, and there MUST be a small empty gap at the top of the sight gauge when hot. I wanted to get some opinions on the choice the factory set for the viscosity on this 2015 KTM 1190 Adventure, the factory recommends a 10W50 with a 9K oil change interval, or if below 32F to use a 5W40, I'm wondering if using a 10W40 with shorter change intervals of say 3K would provide equal to or better protection then the 2,829. Location: OH. Production started in 2017, so you may not find a 1090 with a ton of miles out there, but there's plenty of bikes in the 1x90 family with a lot of miles on them out there.
